'The Friends' are a registered charity whose main role is to act as a supportive link between the patients and the doctors and staff of the surgery. They are an active, independent group of patients involved in arranging talks, providing feedback to the practice and also raising funds to further improve facilities at the surgery.

They have an evolving role with the Primary Care Trust and the involvement of lay people in health service development.
